What's Up?A Linux Tech show?

What would you say to a linux tech show. On the internet to download that would be starring Ubuntu in the first few episodes. I'm talking to some friends of mine and are thinking of starting things up. I just wanted to know what anyone else would like to say about doing this show about open source. I haven't seen any shows about open source and the ones that do just leave up for only 2 mins. My plan is to have a show that will show off open source and of course Ubuntu in a 20-30 min show.

Draft: 1. Installing Linux 2. Updating 3. Customize 4. Get other Software (Multimedia, programs and cool stuff).

I know it my sound corny but it will be for people who don't know about linux and open source. I want to show them an open source world.

Update: I have a donation button up if you want to support my work.

RENT ANIME DOT COM

Image hosted by Photobucket.com
I recently signed up for RentAnime.com. Which to my surprise is a really decent looking website and services? But you know how website sometimes screws you over in the end. It's not just another online movie ordering service. So I wanted to see if I was going to get screwed like a alter boy on his first day at Christian slumber party camp, when he for got to wear underwear and just dropped his penny collection.

So at first I went to the message boards where all anime nerds and other losers like me go. And I was really surprised to see that the reviews of the service. Almost all anime freaks said that they love the service and are getting the bigger plan for service. There are two plans of service you can have. You can have 3 movie delivered to you from your online list over movies you created for $19.99 or 1 movie for $9.99. The rental queue/ shopping cart are really good idea because you may want to just buy the movie. People who watch anime know what I'm talking about. With anime you may just want to see it again. Which it also gives you the option to buy the title on a discount and get the box with your next title on the rental queue?

AnimeNation is the company that created RentAnime.com and it a company that I've bought anime from for about 5 years. If you don't know by now but I fully support RentAnime.com. It's a great service and I hope I don't start buying everything I rent.

I know that there are other services but this is the one that had the best service but customers.

Cingular + T-Mobile = Bad Service

Image hosted by Photobucket.com

Ok you may be wanting to buy a new cell phone. You're thinking that "Hey I'll just buy a Cingular phone or T-Mobile phone. They're on TV all the time so I'll just be stupid and buy one." Ok I know that you're thinking that I'm just mad at a company because I didn't get a good signal.

Well your half right. I got two different Nokia phone from T-Mobile and I had ok service. But I couldn't get it at or around my house. I had to go down the street to get a descent signal. First what happens is that I get a signal and then I walk outside to talk. I have to walk until I get a signal. My zip code is 76018. I think that I'm not the only person with this problem. But can anyone tell me why GSM is the biggest network ever. I don't care that you can go over seas with it like I go to europe or asia every weekend. I just want to know if I have a signal in my area that I live in.

So when I canceled my phones with T-moblie and go screwed even more went I didn't have a contract. I went to AT&T now Cingular. So I had an ok signal around my area but still not in my house. If I got to work I can get signal where I can't talk on the phone.

So after being abused I'm now going to Sprint and the funny thing about it is that everytime I had bad signal my two friends had sprint phones that I would call my friends on. So I'm going with Sprint and maybe next month I'll go to Verizon. By the way Nextel is owned by Sprint. I really glad Nextel is bought by Sprint now Sprint will have the push to talk feature.

Tuesday, March 01, 2005

No fun before you leave.

I all was wonder way everyone acts crazy everytime someone has a drink. I'm saying this because when I was at a friends house I brought beer in. What happend was my friends mom is so conservative that she doesn't like it when someone brings beer in. She could have said something but she wanted to wine about "oh your going to drink a 12 pack with 4 people". WTF? First the reason I brough beer is because my friend was about to go back to Iraq. And he won't be able to chill and have a drinks. Tell me this if you going to war don't you want a drink. I not talking about getting drunk, I'm just saying have a drink.

Tell if you had one last day at home before you leave for a year what would you do?
What would you eat and what would you drink?

I would get drunk but not drive. Probly rent a timeshare and just get wasted at the bar down stairs. And finish the drinking in the timeshare and have some friends over to chill with. Maybe some dancing.

But I'm not just hanging around with friends of the famliy talking about stuff I don't care about.

Please Comment
Tell if you had one last day at home before you leave for a year what would you do?
What would you eat and what would you drink?

Download: Quintessential player

This download is a new music player for your computer. I really hate using Windows media player(WMP). Everytime I try to use it, it crashes. Why do you make a program that crashes. I'm tired of a program that crashes. So this program has alot of features that are what I'm looking for. There's a list below but what I really wanted to say is if you want to play MP3's use Quintessential player after using so many different player I'm happy with this one.

Features
*CD-ripping
*MP3-converting
*efficiency
*stability
*flexibility
*takes up less memory than WMP.

Wild Download: STATIONRIPPER

StationRipper, I know you're saying it's two words not one right. Well they like it to be one word. This program will help you lose itunes. I really hate itunes because of the format they use. M4P, what kind of format is that. They get you to use it because it say's "hey download music with itunes." But of course everyone thinks mp3's because everyone that music is only in mp3. So no one knows until they downloads. I didn't know until I downloaded a song. I didn't know you can only play it in itunes, so you using there product for all you music everything. Now I just use StationRipper, what it does is rip internet radio station into MP3’s. Also you can get links to broadcast and just copy and paste it into the program. I have all the music I need. My friend tried to give me one of those napster prepay cards for free and I said "StationRipper will give you music you didn't know existed." So if you're reading this StationRipper will give you all the music you need for free. And it's legal.

Zerocool's Final thought: if you don't get this, you have money so die. And I'm cheap.

DVD Review: I, ROBOT

I just got I, Robot on DVD and I wish I saw it in the theater. I didn't see the movie before I bought it because I was at Fry's Electronics and I had a buyers itch so I bought it. I really like it because I'm a fan of Will Smith Movies. Not in I think he's cute way, but he's a good actor. The Action of course was so fast pace. The Story is well written and now I want to read the book. From what the director said in the commentary said the books are short stories, later I'll just Google it. The action and the animation was so well produced that you can't tell what is real. You keep thinking how did they do that? But of course you always know that it's green screen. Anyway's from a guy's point of view I loved it. Great Action, corny one-lines from Will Smith and Robots destroying the world. The DVD has basic special features like making of, commentary, and photo gallery. There’s nothing special about that. But I'm just waiting see a Special edition DVD later on.

Cingular Wireless

I use Cingular Wireless as my cell phone service. And only reason I haven't gone to Sprint is because of great idea of contracts. I know that's how they make there money but do you have to have a $200 for canceling the contract. Now my cell phone, the Motorola v220 from cingular was $70 w/ contract is ok. A rebate for $20 that I still never got but oh well. The real problem is that I can't get range in my room. When I'm in my house I get one bar. But in my room my cell is dead. So what's the point of having a cell phone, a way for everyone to get in touch with you but when you sleep you miss calls and just get voicemail of people saying stuff like "Hey this is (some girl) I wanted to see you tonight, but I guess you are asleep. This is my last night in town so I guess I'll go to sleep alone. Bye." Now I know you don't care about that stuff. But to me that is important. It happens to me all the time. I hate that I have miss calls like that.

Overall Point:
So if your going to get a Cell phone just bye the cell and get insurance. And get Sprint out of all the companys Sprint is the best signal but bad service. Cingular has good service and a large network but doen't work at my house so if it works at your keep it. Verizon has ok signal on some phones and for some reason all there phones are not sexy there ugly. Verizon will have a larger network soon though because they work hard to be the biggest.

My Cell Phone

IPOD "The Master of Music"

The Ipod is the best thing since the cell phone. I know it's pricey, but you can get one if you have credit. Just go to RadioShack and get one of there cards. Charge it and cut it up. Now all you have to do is pay $25 a month for 16 months and you got youself an Ipod.

What I do with mine is transfer bittorrent files and pron. But of couse I have music on it. I'll tell you about bittorrent later or you can just google it.
